If you've not yet seen it, blogosphere search engine Technorati have recently put out a helpful Support FAQ dealing with issues such as:
Interestingly though they still haven't mentioned the problem about correctly tagged posts not showing up on Technorati's tag pages, though it's a known issue that is still a mystery to them. (And I continue to get that problem, myself, with specific posts). Let's hope they solve it and add something about that soon. It's my main bugbear with Technorati as you can tell.

Interesting. Today my Techno. rank dropped from 100,000 something to "0" and my Tags disappeared (again). And the link from my site to theirs wouldn't work. I put the Tags back in and that seemed to fix the link and my rating reappeared on the first Techno page but not on the page where you Tag your blog?

I emailed Dave Sifry and he's looking at it. Did you get caught by the "Top Search" ROFLOLWTFBBQ?

The other thing that happens is that those sites linking to me show up on my page and then sometimes disappear.

Bizarre.

For awhile I had troubles getting all my blogs tagged by technorati, but now --- they are tagging my sites like HOT POTATOES.

I suppose cleaning up your site by conforming to W3C markup validation has a lot to do with it.

Second, since I made so much changes to my blogs, I figured I must have confused all the spiders. So I deleted all my blog claims at Technorati and reclaim them back, organized my tags, making sure my meta tags for my feeds are accurately spelled etc.

Also, I think it was Improbolus tagging hack plays an important role.

So in short, it all works just fine.

Technorati hasn't updated my link count or ranking in around 3 weeks. When new links come in, they do show up in the listing, but the numbers don't change. This is also happening to other people... new referring links added to Technorati profile lists, but link counts not updating.

I'm another who has not seen an update in at least 3 weeks...

I submitted a ticket from the support FAQ page. Technorati fixed my numbers within several hours and sent me a nice email response. There are still some incoming links that haven't been tabulated, but that may be due to some other problem.

Thanks for your comments.

Welcome to Wallyworld, I've heard of some erratic behaviour on Technorati's site before but not some of that! Glad David Sifry's looking at it though.

CL yes validation really seems to help with Technorati. And deleting and reclaiming I've heard works for some. Glad the tagging hack helped!

Sereena and elsa - sorry you've had problems, sounds like Technorati are more responsive now at least, so elsa you might try asking for support too? It's great that they've sorted out most of your issues Sereena.

Mark, sorry you've had problems too, I can only suggest you keep chasing Technorati support till it's sorted.

yes i've emailed them 3 times since, with no response.

i've reclaimed my blog too, and that updated the pings, but my tags still don't show up.

so the "update" shown is really a useless indication.

it's frustrating to say the least as my site was tagged but suddenly stopped..

Mark that's a pity - have you tried emailing their support bod Janice Myint direct? jmyint@technorati.com - she does try to help.
